Isotonic Drink is a powdered carbohydrate and electrolyte drink developed to support hydration and energy intake before, during and after exercise.

The formula combines carbohydrates derived from potato starch with electrolytes, vitamins and beta-alanine. It is primarily intended for intensive training sessions and competitions lasting less than 90 minutes, when maintaining fluid, carbohydrate and mineral balance is important for consistent performance.

It may also be used before exercise to support hydration and electrolyte availability, or afterwards to help restore fluids and minerals lost through perspiration.

Suitable for vegans. Gluten-free, lactose-free and sugar-free.

Hydration and Electrolyte Balance

During exercise, the body loses both water and electrolytes through perspiration. Replacing water without considering electrolyte intake may not provide complete hydration support, particularly during demanding sessions or when exercising in hot conditions.

An insufficient fluid or electrolyte intake may contribute to:

  • Reduced physical performance
  • Muscular cramping
  • Dehydration
  • Electrolyte imbalance
  • Hyponatraemia in extreme cases

Maintaining an appropriate balance between fluids and electrolytes is therefore an important part of an effective hydration strategy.

Carbohydrate Delivery

Each recommended 20 g serving provides approximately 17 g of carbohydrates, primarily from potato-starch amylopectin.

Amylopectin is a highly available carbohydrate source selected to support efficient digestion and carbohydrate delivery during exercise. According to the manufacturer, its properties may provide:

  • Gastric emptying up to 80% faster than certain commonly used carbohydrate sources
  • Glycogen replenishment up to 70% faster due to its high availability

The actual rate of digestion and glycogen restoration may vary depending on the athlete, exercise intensity, total carbohydrate intake and recovery conditions.

Vitamins, Minerals and Beta-Alanine

The formula contains potassium, sodium, chloride, magnesium and zinc, together with vitamins C, E and B1. These nutrients support normal physiological processes related to energy metabolism, electrolyte balance and exercise.

Each serving also contains 100 mg of beta-alanine, included as part of the product’s performance-focused formulation.

Recommended Use

Dissolve 1.5 scoops (20 g) in 500 ml of water and shake thoroughly.

Consume approximately 150 ml every 15–20 minutes during exercise. It may also be consumed before or after training as part of an individual hydration and recovery strategy.

Fluid and carbohydrate requirements vary according to exercise duration, intensity, environmental conditions and individual perspiration rate.

Combining with Other Products

Depending on the duration and intensity of the activity, Isotonic Drink may be combined with additional nutrition products as part of a structured fuelling plan:

  • Additional electrolytes: One SALTS Electrolytes capsule per hour with approximately 250 ml of water
  • Energy gels: One or two Energy Gels per hour, taken with approximately 250 ml of water
  • Liquid carbohydrates: Approximately 500–800 ml of Energy Drink per hour
  • Solid nutrition: One Endurance Fuel Bar, consumed gradually with water

Total carbohydrate, fluid and electrolyte intake should be adapted to the athlete’s individual requirements and tolerance.

Ingredients

Potato starch, acidulant (citric acid), natural flavouring, potassium citrate, sodium chloride, L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C), magnesium carbonate, zinc gluconate, sweetener (sucralose), DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), beta-alanine, colour (curcumin) and thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1).
