The Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR is a Tubeless Ready road tire engineered for racing, performance riding and fast endurance applications. Built on a completely revised casing construction, it combines reduced rolling resistance, improved sidewall protection and compatibility with both hooked and hookless rims while retaining Continental's proven BlackChili Compound and Vectran Breaker puncture protection.

Redesigned Tubeless Construction

The Grand Prix 5000 S TR features a newly developed casing specifically designed for modern road tubeless systems.

Compared to the previous generation, the tread casing has been reduced from three plies to two, improving tyre conformity to the road surface while reducing rolling resistance. A revised tubeless construction also eliminates the need for an additional sealing layer, reducing overall weight without compromising reliability.

The reinforced three-layer sidewalls include an additional protective layer for increased resistance against cuts and punctures while maintaining stability at lower tyre pressures.

BlackChili Compound

Continental's proprietary BlackChili Compound combines specially developed polymers, carbon black particles and performance fillers to optimise the balance between grip, rolling efficiency and service life.

The compound is designed to provide consistent performance in both dry and wet conditions while maintaining low rolling resistance and predictable handling throughout the tyre's lifespan.

Vectran Breaker Protection

The Vectran Breaker is a lightweight puncture protection layer positioned beneath the tread.

Manufactured from a liquid crystal polymer fibre originally developed for aerospace and automotive applications, Vectran offers a high level of cut resistance and tensile strength while adding minimal weight and maintaining rolling efficiency.

Active Comfort Technology

Integrated into the tyre construction, Active Comfort Technology helps absorb road vibrations to improve ride quality and reduce rider fatigue over long distances.

Lazer Grip

The tyre shoulder features Continental's Lazer Grip micro-profile texture, precision laser-cut to enhance grip during cornering while maintaining predictable handling characteristics.

Tubeless Ready

The Grand Prix 5000 S TR is designed for tubeless installation using a compatible sealant.

Its specially developed bead profile provides a secure interface with compatible rims for reliable inflation and retention.

The tyre is also compatible with conventional clincher setups using an inner tube.

Hookless Rim Compatibility

The Grand Prix 5000 S TR is approved for use with compatible hookless road rims as well as traditional hooked clincher rims.

Important: When installed on hookless rims, tyre pressure must not exceed 5.0 bar (73 PSI).

Continental recommends using a minimum of 30 ml of tubeless sealant during initial installation.
