At the heart of the RearVue 820 is Garmin's next-generation rear-facing radar system.
The radar continuously monitors approaching traffic from up to 175 meters away using an expanded detection field, allowing riders to receive earlier notifications of vehicles approaching from behind. The system is also capable of identifying vehicle size, estimating threat level, and detecting vehicles travelling at similar speeds, providing a richer understanding of surrounding traffic when paired with compatible Garmin Edge® cycling computers or the Garmin Varia™ app.

The RearVue 820 features Garmin's brightest rear light yet, delivering up to 100 lumens in Day Flash mode and visibility from as far as 2 kilometers away under daylight conditions.
An integrated automatic brake light detects when you're slowing down or stopping, activating a distinctive flash pattern that helps alert drivers and riders behind you, increasing your visibility during sudden changes in speed.
