With the new AXS HRD shift/brake system, SRAM delivers its most significant evolution within the RED groupset to date. Both the hood shape and the carbon brake lever have been completely redesigned to improve ergonomics, control, and braking power across a wider range of hand sizes.

Thanks to a revised pivot point and the relocation of the primary piston into the shifter body, braking effort is dramatically reduced. The result: powerful, precise braking with just one finger, whether riding on the hoods or in the drops.

An additional shift button integrated into the hood adds extra functionality, allowing control of ANT+-compatible bike computers. The textured main shift paddles retain the proven eTap logic: one paddle for upshifts, one for downshifts, and both together to shift the front derailleur. Shifting behavior can be fully customized via the SRAM AXS app, and the system supports integration of SRAM Wireless Blip Shifters.

Brake lever reach and contact point are independently adjustable, ensuring a perfect setup without the lever ever touching the handlebar.

The newly redesigned brake calipers are stiffer, lighter, and more efficient, featuring a wider pad gap for easier installation and drag-free performance. Bleeding Edge technology ensures clean, simple bleeding. Thanks to its slimmer overall design, the RED HRD system saves an impressive 83 grams compared to the previous generation.
